Travelling from Deleware to New York

I will be on holiday in Lewes, Deleware for about 2 weeks and would like to spend a few days in the Big Apple- I dont want to drive- can someone suggest how I might get there by train or bus?? I believe the journey takes about 3.5 hours by car. Thanks
 
You can get the bus from Rehoboth Beach and then get the bus (Greyhound) from there. If I remember correctly there is a frequent (local) bus service between Lewes and Reboboth Beach.

It's not the shortest bus journey in the world by any stretch of the imagination -
 
Thanks for that Daveirl,We are actually staying in Rehoboth Beach with friends during our stay!! Do you know anything about the place? Am I right inb assuming that NY is about three hours away?
 
Yeah I did my J1 there 3 summers ago. Had a great time. New York is probably more like 4 hours away, it's all on the highway though. If you're going by bus it's obviously going to take more time though!
