Travel Tax

Hi , In the last budget a €10 Travel Tax was introduced for flights out of Ireland . This was later revised to exclude Aircraft with 20 or less passengers. In the Revenue Website this tax became applicable for the 30th March for all flights irrespective of when the booking was made.

Question : How is this tax being collected ?

ryanair adds it on with extra charges / taxes.
no charges from belfast - always check easyjet and aerlingus from belfast - thats where my next 2 trips are starting from

It's added to the cost of your flight ticket (included in the Taxes and Charges element).

It means of course that if for any reason you don't travel, you've paid the tax anyway (and, with Ryanair, you can't get it back!).

I'm travelling in a few weeks on flights I booked 5 months ago. There was no travel tax at the time of booking. Seems to me the airlines have absorbed the tax for those that booked before the tax was announced. The revenue website clearly states this is still payable no matter when the flight was booked. !!!
