Travel insurance quistion

we are supposed to be going on holiday in 2 weeks time we have travel insurance with VHI.My husband has been quite ill with his chest for past few week.Finger crossed that he will be ok.
5 years ago we had to claim for the same thing with our travel insurance as he could not travel.
We have multip which has been running for a number of years.

if we need to claim again will we be covered or will this been as a pre exiting condation.
 
You might not want to hear my view, but travel insurance is an annual policy, same as motor insurance. If your husband had a motor conviction you would have to tell the insurers, if your husband had chest pains, it should been disclosed to travel insurers at the following renewal. travel insurance is a minefield.
 
Yes it was we also have our health insurance with them.Our travel insurance just rolls over one year to the next.when we took our our health insurance he had Asmtha and this can lead to very bad chest infection so we are hoping it will clear in time for us to travel but you never know with this like this.
 
It is vital you inform the insurers. Otherwise if your husband ends up having to be hospitalised abroad you could end up footing the bill! Please make sure you'll be covered.
