Travel Insurance - NOT departing from Ireland

Hi,

Working in Germany on a contract, travelling to Slovenia for a week next week and I need travel insurance which will be valid departing from Germany. My VHI does not cover me as I'm not departing from Ireland.

Any recommended websites - in Germany, Ireland or possibly the UK?

Yes, I guess so but I've been unsuccessful in finding anything out. The only site I could find was ADAC.de but I think they only offer Travel Cancellation insurance - German is not good and have not good any good info from anyone over here... :(

I can suggest you ask on http://www.toytowngermany.com/ I've a friend living in Germany who uses their forums a lot, and it's in English.
 
Why not try a travel agent in Germany. Or check with the company you booked the flights with.
 
If you are after a travel health insurance than have a look at https://global.ihi.com which is an international provider independent of where your place of residence is. They also offer a non medical option in addition. They are not cheap but great to deal with in case of a medical emergency.

However your European Health Insurance Card (which you get either from the HSE in Ireland if you still have residency here or if you are insured in Germany from your appropiate Krankenkasse) is valid in Slovenia, so you might not have a need for a medical travel insurance.

Why don't you get one of your German co-workers to help you obtain a german travel insurance which you can buy on several webpages, for example http://www.reiseversicherung.de/ is a fast service by ergo and offers loads of options.
