Travel Insurance for longer than 31 day trip

A friend is planning to go to Oz and NZ for 5/6 weeks holidays. She was looking at getting an annual insurance possible but on checking most will say it's for multi trips but none of longer than 31 days duration.
I have advised her to ring a few companies rather than use websites as it is very specific request.
On the off chance does anyone know of an annual insurance product that does not have a limit on holiday duration or has one for 40/50 days. OR
Is she best to just get independent insurance for that one trip?

Google "long stay travel insurance" and restrict the search to Ireland only for some options.

The VHI give 60 days as standard and can extend to to 180 days for extra cost.

I went with Trailfinders and they cover 75 days for any trip - it's annual insurance.

If you search for Long Stay Travel Insurance you will probably find lots of single trip policies. These are commonly called backpacker's insurance and many will have a strict limit to the age. Annual Travel Insurance is the one to look for.

Our company runs travelinsurance.ie and are able to offer Annual Travel Insurance with a trip duration of 60 days per trip to anyone up to 65, though of course there will be others out there.
