Hi all,

Heading to Canada in a few days and trying to decipher insurance policies of the different companies. Based on what they offer, I have it narrowed down to 2/3
Just wondering about medical cover/ hospital benefit
Multi-trip
Hospital Benefit €150 €60


Insurance bookers

Hospital Benefit €15 per 24 hours up to €3000 Nil


What is hospital benefit?

I did look at the other posts, didn't think there was many sepcifically related to US/ Canada....

Also, still don't know what the diff. is btn. hospital benefit + medical expenses....

What does the policy booklet say about the terms?

Hospital benefit will pay you a set amount per day (after a deferred period) up to a max of €3k. Medical expenses cover doctors/surgeons/ hospital costs. Make sure you have a large amount of ME cover and read through the conditions as this is the biggest risk in the states/Canada where medical costs can be massive. ALso check out the companies medical repatriation policy.
