Hi All,

Has anyone here been married in Italy? My partner and I are getting married in June in Sicliy and have been advised that we need to get all of our documents translated into Italian, letters of freedom/certs etc. Does anyone know where we can get this done? We were told by our priest that we could simply give the documents to the department of foreign affairs and they would do it if requested, we got all of our docs together and when my partner went to them and asked, they said they didn't do translations and that she should go and look in the yellow pages for someone who did!?! NOT very helpful!!!

Are they any good recognised agencys we can use for this?

Any advice is GREATLY appreciated!

Cheers,

Call Crystal at FC Translations 086 8666655. They are well used to translating documents in all languages. Be aware though that its not cheap. Don't know the exact price per page but you can shop around once you have a price. Also you could try Wordperfect Translations. (don't have the number)

As these are official/legal documents, you probably need a translator authorised for the purpose by the Italian government. The Italian Embassy should be able to advise.

Tanti auguri...

Maybe not but your priest gave you bad advice here because Foreign Affairs is not a translation service for the general public!

There is the Irish Embassy to Holy See based in the Vatican City. Kind of like Carlsberg Complaints Department, but sound like they have time on their hands, last time I mistakingly rang them anyhow!.

Failing that I recommend trying rentacoder.com.
Remove all personal details from scans and post bid.
In case of a "joker", you could then get work verified on another seperate bid?
