Transition Pension in Yr. 2014

Any details available yet for folk in my situation who will be age 65 in 2014 (god willing) re claiming the Transition Pension as this is the year set for increasing the retirement age from 66 to 67.
 
2014 is the year for the abolition of the transition pension, therefore you will not be getting any pension in that year. However in 2015 you will be getting your State Contributory Pension at age 66 (assuming you have sufficient PRSI paid)
BTW if your employment contract chucks you out at age 65 I assume you can obtain you Jobseekers Benefit until your 66th birthday as is the current situation

thanks Black Sheep for your reply I didn't realise that the Transition Pension was going to be abolished. I'm aware that they leave you on JB even if you run over the 12 month normally allowed and hopefully that will continue.

I've just emailed sw and no doubt they will confirm what you have pointed out above. Have to plan....it ain't far away. :(
