My work contract states I must retire at 65 (Nov 2014). Transition pension to be discontinued from Jan 2014. Will I be then eligible to get job seekers allowance for the year until I reach 66 if I have sufficient credits.

Question relating to the discontinuation of the transition pension and raising the COAP age is causing much fear and anxiety among those coming close to retirement age.

Im moving this question from Pensions to Welfare where I think it might get a better set of answers.

As it stands at the moment you should be able to claim JSB from the date you retire until your 66th birthday but to date no clarification of that has been received.
We live in hope !!!!!!!!!!
