Transferring tax credits to hubby

Transferring tax credits to my husband beneficial?
Myself and my husband both work full time and have 1 dependant child. Like any mum I want to spend more time at home and need to find out about going part-time and if it would be beneficial for me to transfer my tax credits to my husband so that we wouldn't be losing out that much money. I earn 42K and my husband earns 45k.

Can anyone help?
