Transferring sterling from uk to irish euro bank account

I'm working in the UK, and send money back home on a monthly basis (like a 20 year ago time warp).

I'm just wondering what other options are available to me other than doing a direct bank transfer.

Currently I use BOI UK and transfer 3-5 days to BOI IE. An example of todays rate given is 1.2391, as opposed to the market rate of 1.2597 (1% margin I think). Now I know that it's not possible to get the market rate, but are there other options available to me.

I'm looking at ukforex.com to see what they offer.

(Typical transfer amounts are around 2K sterling.)
 
I have used this UK based currency broker before - Currency Solutions the amounts need to be at least 3k GBP . Can you not do a bigger transfer every 2 months?
