Transferring PRSA funds between countries

Hi,

If someone starts an AVC PRSA here now and then moves permanently to Austraila or South Africa in a few years, can their PRSA funds be merged with an Australian or South African pension scheme then?

I know that the foreign scheme would have to be willing and able to accept overseas transfers, but does anyone know if there are any legal impediments to this?

Thanks.

...And what happens if you have a PRSA as a European citizen and want to go and work in France or Germany for a decade, there should be a European product which allows you to pay into it from other countries. I'm a bit worried to end up with four different tiny pensions. I already have a 3 yr company scheme which is frozen as I could not take it to the next company, - when I opened it up it sounded easily transferrable) I start saving at all corners but find it hard to get any "pension" pot amount worth mentioning, especially as I cannot put much into my PRSA as a part time employee. I had hoped to transfer my SSIA lump sum into a pension tax free and get a good ongoing pension product for low earners, wasn't that the initial idea of the whole thing?
Regards,
Fanny
