Transferring ownership to a remainderman

My mother was made a life trust in her fathers will. She was left a house and some land, to use for her lifetime and then to pass to me and my brother. She wants to give us each a site now. Is it possible for her to do this or would she have that ability seeing that the property is in trust ?
