Hi,

I have an ipod and have copied my nmusic from the Hard Drive onto a USB so that my friend can download my music onto their creative Zen But its not working?

Tried Basic downloading from USB no luck?
Tried copying the music USB onto a CD and still no luck?

Please help?

Hi,

I would say that as you have put your music into itunes that it has been converted to ma4 format which is only supported on an ipod so the music will not play or transfer onto the ZEN. You will need to check what format your music is in (ma4 or mp3 wav etc) and then convert it to mp3 or WMA to transfer to the creative or CD. You can download a free converter from the web , try "too cows" for freeware

Thanks Guys..... i am completely clueless..... when i put music onto Ipod it converts it to ACC format so what is that?

Walk me through excatly what i have to do really appreciate the help?

Please expalin in plain language am i converting my music from MP4 to Mp3 what does Ipod have what does Creative Zen have?

Ipod's use an apple [FONT=&quot]propriety coding of your music called acc, you can also have formats such as ma4, mp3, wma and wav. Your apple will only support the acc format while the creative will support all the other (mostly) but not acc (as it's for ipods only). You need to convert the acc into a format which your creative will accept (this is writen in the spec sheet or help). Also anything you buy with itunes will be in acc format so touse it on any other player you must convert the format.

I haven't used the media money before but it looks like it will do the job for you, i.e it's a media/music player which converts between music formats to allow you to transfer to any player you like

hope that helps

so i am converting acc into mp3 is there another name for acc?

i reallly appreciate your help with this?

so i upload the media monkey burn disc onto it , it will convert acc to mp3 burn second disc and my friend has music?

no, as i said i haven't used the media money before so i'm not sure how exactly it works but the way i would do it is that you have your music on your hard drive, in acc format. This needs to be converted to mp3 format, you convert the acc to mp3 (using the monkey or some other converter) then copy those mp3 files to the usb or burn to disk and then you can transfer them to our friend. There is no need to burn the media money to disk as it is an application that works on your pc. Or if you use this monkey let it take control of the music on your pc, do it thing and then plug in the creative into your pc and you can transfer that way

i'm open to correction here as i haven't used the program

If your music is stored on your computers hard drive just open windows media player and copy the files to cd/ mp3 format. you are probably using your itunes media libary to copy to cd which will be in ipod format (no other player can read). However if you copied (ripped) your cd's with itunes then you will need to do as others have saud and use a convertor although not all the track/album information will be transferred across. If this is the case i would suggest giving your friend your cd's for him/her to rip using windows etc and then download onto their mp3 player

pk so this is what i do.........

1) upload Musicmonkey
2) burn dsic onto music monkey use converter to change music to mp3
3)Burn second disc with converted music and give to friend

the reason i dont use itunes to convert is the fact this is being done on my friends computer and they dont have itunes

Use converter Wav to Mp3 there arwe several converters, i presume this is the correct one?

A few of the terms above seem wrong, but you seem to have the general idea.

1) Download Musicmonkey (or any other file conversion software)
2) Use musicmonkey (or other software) to convert files stored on computer (presumably in ACC format, hence the problem) to MP3 (or other compatible format)
3) Burn disc with converted music files to disc for your friend

I would have assumed you're looking for an ACC to MP3 convertor, not a WAV to MP3... but without knowing what format the original files are it's impossible for any of us to say (if the files are currently WAV I would have thought they would already be compatible with the Zen, I could be wrong on this though).

the files are acc...... but i dont see a acc to mp3 converter on music monkey? unless acc is called another name ?

I've never used the above software (are you using the Mediamonkey link provided above or some other software called Musicmonkey?) so can't comment.

If you google for AAC, MP3 and converter you should find plenty of results (). No experience with any of them to suggest one though.

If the files are DRM protected, you won't be able to rip/convert them like this. You're not allowed to copy your music files to someone else unless theres no copyright restrictions on them. If they are your own music etc.

If you can download Musicmonkey to your friends PC you can download iTunes.

In Musicmonkey you select the files, right click on them, and choose /sent to/ folder rip/convert.

Transfer your itunes folder to your friends computer who has the zen software already on it. When they open the software there is a icon which transfer the music in the itunes folder over to the zen.
