@PoundMan Thank you for this- I’m interested in using Currency Fair but not sure how to PM you@Fiddlybits I have used both Wise (formerly known as TransferWise) and CurrencyFair in order to transfer my savings when I moved from UK to Ireland. Both are very good and I had no real issues with either. If you are interested in trying one of them you can PM me for a referral. I have also used Revolut to send smaller sums of money to family and friends in the UK but it was a little bit more expensive. You could also use Monito to compare prices of transfers or if you prefer a bit more of a hand-holding experience I've heard OFX are good.

You can of course transfer in smaller chunks if you're nervous of doing the whole 50k in one go.
Thank you @peemac . I didn’t know that and I am leaning towards using my bankTransfermate and Wise are great services, but you can also request a market rate from your bank and for 50k you may get a rate about 0.5% off mid market.
