Transferring money on a bank holiday?

I've transferred money from my PayPal to my AIB account today but I'm wondering how long it will take to arrive given that tomorrow is a bank holiday.

26-Dec = public holiday and bank holiday

27-Dec = bank holiday

Do such transfers get held up by bank holidays?

Yup, it will probably show up on the 30th if you are lucky or even the 31st if it is a 24 hour process.

27 DEC is not a bank holiday ... not an official one anyway.

27th December is one of two bank holidays in Ireland.

The banks are closed on 27-Dec. As are post offices.

It is not a public holiday.

Many people conflate the two terms public holiday and bank holiday.

PayPal to AIB is quick.

During banking hours, it usually is in the account in 2-3 hours.

So expect it to be there on Monday morning.

My brother transferred money from his BOI account to my AIB account on Christmas Day. It showed up in my AIB account on 27 December.
