Transfering money to germany

Hello

Just a quick question. I want to transfer 45k to germany but we would like to avoid paying high charges.
Hence I was wondering what is the highest amount I go through the customs at the airport with ....?
Is their a limit ?

You should not have to pay high charges - or at least charges higher than a normal Irish to Irish bank transfer - for amounts up to €50K. See .

As far as I know there are no longer any exchange controls in operation in Ireland for years now so you can carry as much cash into/out of the country as you like. However carrying €45K in cash would be pretty risky/foolhardy in my opinion.

Interpay ( normal/2 day transfer) with BOI is 50 cent for personal a/c holders up to 50k,if you have IBAN and BIC.

Interpay with BOI has no charge up to €50k if you have BIC, IBAN & names addresses etc.

Normal Tx fee of 28c if you're not meeting the free banking criteria
