transfer of video 8 to digital

Does anybody know of anywhere in Dublin where i could get a number of Video8 format tapes transfered to digital. Or if a method exists that doesn't require me having a phd in electronics and i could do it myself.

My dad has a Sony ccd-tr411e (video 8Xr) handycam and years worth of tapes around the house. I have been volunteered, seeings as i can 'use the internet' to get them into the digital era.

Any help or suggestions appreciated.

It might be worth investing in something like [broken link removed]? Could be cheaper than paying per tape/per hour...

I`ve been checking this out, lately, too.
Have been told most dvd recorders will do the job.
Hoping to do test on one.
May buy a budget DVd recorder.Its worth it for the 10 - 12 tapes I have.
