Transfer of Vesting Rights

I am looking for information on the transfer of vesting rights. I have been told that a person needs to vest just once in a pension scheme. Thereafter they can transfer their funds to another scheme and retain their vesting rights so that they then can immediately keep any employers contributions.

Is this correct?

Can anyone supply any related links? I can not find anything on www.pensionboard.ie

Thanks.

When moving jobs if you transfer from your former employer's occupational scheme into the new employer's occupational scheme then you also transfer vesting time. Two years is the normal (mandatory?) vesting time so once you have served this and transfer into another scheme then you automatically secure the benefits of employer contributions.

Thanks. I know that 2 years is the maximun length for the vesting period. That is indicated on [broken link removed]. The actual length depends on the pension scheme. It could even be waived.
