Transfer frpm PC to Ipad - HELP

Please help if you can.
I need to transfer movies for the kids from pc to ipad for a journey tomorrow. I've tried Google and come across tonnes of info but it seems daunting and long winded.
Is there a quick sure fire way to transfer 2 to 3 movies. I'm a little computer savvy but this has me completly baffeled.

download handbrake, it will convert your movies to Mp4, then you can drag them into itunes.
