The company I work for is putting us on short-time during the summer months to save revenue. They are putting us on a 3 day week for 7 weeks (meaning I will loose 14 days)
There is an IT course (which is FAS funded in a private training company) which I would like to do. I am thinking about asking my company to give me 2 weeks off unpaid to do this course, and deduct this from the 14 days above.
I have 2 questions about this:
1. is it ok for me to register for JB while doing a training course?
and 2.
Is there any legal difference for me to be on a 3 day week for a few weeks vs being off for 2 full weeks? would it be considered a break of contract and would it effect my total years-of-service in the future?
