Train the Trainer- What Next

Hi Folks,
I was strongly thinking of signing up to take a train the trainer class, but was wondering have many people taken one of these classes lately.

How useful did you find it?
What kind of opportunities are available to you now that you have taken it?
Is there much work out there after completing the class?

I come from an IT background myself and am currently employed, but was looking at this as a sideline where I could provide classes for novice computer users to begin with.

Has anyone else out there been there and done this?
Would be interested in your views on this.

I colleague of mine did the course, having completed a management coursethrough BMI in Fás Loughlinstown.

The intention was to open up the possibilities you described but as far as I know he didn't find any.

He's over in Europe now job-hunting, but I will put the question to him and see what he says.
 
Completed this course last year with the same ideas as yourself. However, found it hard enough to get extra work. What I did do was approach my current employer regarding giving training in fields such as EHS, Manual handling. Underwent further training myself to specialise in this area, thanks to my employer. they now don't have to fork out as much for outsider trainers. Now giving regular training at work and keeping my skills learned at the train the trainer course in order. Have found it very beneficial (although not from a financial point). But have approached some training bodies in the past few weeks and they are more intrested to talk to me now. Fingesr crossed somthing on side will bear fruit soon. Its important to give as much training as possible and I will be signing up for the FETAC Level 7 when its next available.
