trailer with broken lights?

Hello, What is the penalty if stopped with a trailer with broken lights? Thanks.

Could this come under 'Driving vehicle before remedying dangerous defect' which carries up to 3 points or 'Driving dangerously defective vehicle' which would be up to 5?

They are introducing new ones in 2012, one of which says about having a trailer without the correct lamps, which carries 1 point

was just checking this, new points come in next year for trailer lights etc, however i dont condone driving /pulling a trailer with a known defect
