Tracker Mortgage v Tracker Variable Rate

Can anyone explain the difference between a Tracker Mortgage and a Variable Tracker Rate please?

the bank I'm currently with and said in the past I had been offered a tracker mortgage but when I went through all the letters I would have received from them I have one saying Variable Tracker Rate.

Is this the same thing?

I was afraid of that.

At the time we entered into a fixed rate as it was better but obviously not in the long run. Thanks
