1999 Toyota corolla front wipers died suddenly. Removed wiper motor and found that the rod or linkage that connects to the motor has slipped. tried putting the linkage back on but won't stay. The black plastic or rubber bush seems to have worn out. any suggestions please? rang up toyota and they say the whole linkage needs to be replaced costing 260 euro including vat and labour. € 170 for the part. can I try a scrap yard or something like that. If anyone out there know a scrapyard, can you please pass on the details.

Try a breakers yard, look in golden pages to see who's nearest to you.

ya, try a breakers yard. I had same problem with a car a while back...dealer wanted 350 or something and got one for 60 in a breakers.
you might find a Toyota difficult to source though in a breakers yard.

My advice would be to get the new part fitted. sounds a bit expensive but if you do manage to source one and then get a mechanic to fit it, it'll be costing you about €120. depends on how long you plan on keeping it.

its not a good time of year to be without wipers
