Toyota Avensis radio interference

Hi guys,
Not sure if this is just related to the toyota but I'm getting this high pitched
sound from my radio on FM every now again when driving ... Sounds like
interference ... Its on all channels ... The car model has no external arial
fitted so not sure where to start looking ... Hoping it may be a DIY repair
because its intermitant ...
Anyone come across this before ?
 
We've an avensis and the radio reception is very poor when we are 'down the country'. I think the aerial is built into the rear side window on our hatchback? It looks like a window defogger?
 
Happens on my S60 when I am in a poor reception area and I put on the rear window demister.
