Toshiba laptop problem

Hey,

New laptop is grand for a while and then menus appear from the sides of the screen. For example if I press i the settings menu pops up. The only way to get rid of it is to restart the laptop. Driving me nuts. I cant find anything in control panel.

Any ideas?
