Can someone explain these to me please.and are they safe or what is the best way to use them with some safety.

Depends.

Are you downloading some legal , or not so legal ?

If legal then make sure you get the torrent file from a legitimate website.

Download a copyrighted book would be the illegal type. So you won't get any help here.

ok so how does it work with legal stuff?if its legal is it on a torrent?

Using torrents can be legal, if for example it's music on which the copyright has expired.

One way to do it is to search for whatever you're looking for on Google or Bing, but include the word torrent.

You'll need to download a torrent client like uTorrent to be able to download torrent files.

Torrents are a way of distributing large files through enabling copies of them to be shared across the WWW by people with the appropriate software. In summary, each file is split out into small parts and those parts are then obtained from a myriad of sources. The software on your PC assembles those parts into a usable whole.

Instead of downloading a single file of 1000Mb, torrents allow you to seperately and individually download (for example) 1000 files of 1Mb and the software stitches it all together again. Equally, while your PC is pulling all of that data together, other PCs ae pulling that data, already downloaded, from your PC.

Over time, torrents have become synonymous with distributing copies of copyrighted material without the authors of that material being rewarded. While there may be legitimate uses for torrents, they would, IMHO, be a miniscule minority of users.

Where to get torrents and how to download them is not allowed on AAM.
