Topsoil rip off

Just a note to anyone looking for topsoil - glenealy garden center are advertising on the web now for 1 ton bags of topsoil @ €99/T. I had the misfortune to call them and order a few bags. The soil came ok but it turned out they had just ordered topsoil from a garden centre in meath who sell it to the public for €75 delivered.

So I ended up paying €48 to glenealy garden centre for the price of a phonecall - Beware!!!!

High price/margin perhaps. But not a rip off if they clearly stated the price and you agreed to it. The fact that you didn't shop around and only found a cheaper price after the fact is not their problem. Quite the opposite in fact.

Compare also the volume, m3 or liters. Wet soil is heavier then dry soil, but not "more" as such, you could be paying for water.
