Top up loans

I'm a novice on loans (thankfully!) but we are about to embark on an overdue kitchen extension that we need money for. We have quotes from a few banks and also waiting to hear from CU. Just wondering if there is a site that would help us compare all the different loan options and rates etc?

Also are banks/lending insitutions open to "haggling" as with insurance companies - don't want to try if we're just going to embarass ourselves.
