Hi

Anybody know about top slicing. I got a redundancy payment this year and was told I should apply for top slicing relief next January. What is it and how do I apply, is there a particular form?

The gist of it is that that you've been taxed at top whack on it and you may be due a refund of some of this tax if the tax you paid is more than your average for the past 3 years. There's a bit more to it than that, so see: [broken link removed]
