Too old (63 &working)to get loan

Hi , People!, This Is A Great Site . I Have A Question, I Need About 20,000 , Im 63 Years Young,&working,paid Off The Morgage
Two Months Ago. I Havent Got The Best Credit Rating Going
Need Car ,build A Few Walls Around House ,house Worth About
750.000,at My Age What Cnanch Have I Got And Where ,

Thanks Steph1, Had Been 2 Cu,s Over The Years Saved 3 Times Looked For Small Loans ,i.e 500-800, Was Refused No Reason Given ,so I Packed Them In

Maybe that and not your age is your problem . You can get a copy of your credit report from the ICB. Why have you a poor credit rating? Other than the credit unions did you approach your own bank and did they refuse you on the basis of your age? I don't see why age should be an issue at all if you can show a potential lender that you have the means (income or pension if you are retiring at 65) to repay the loan over the term of the loan.

thanks people,as reguards ,upper case & lower case ,im not used to computers . as reguards credit rating , in1990 i was working for myself
then came the explosion in interest rates to 17%. i lost everything with the exception of my house .over the years after that ,i put the morgage frst , and was late sometimes very late with all other debts. so for 10 years no finiance company would touch me.for the last 7 years i have been employed with a good company,during that time iwas saving in 2 c.us , and was refused loans ,i belive they do credit checks & nomater who long ago you had been in dificulties ,they hold it against you,so i left them. i have a loan with my current bank ptsb, started with car loan the house repair loan added on to that brought it up to 8,000 . ihave been paying this of over the last 6 years i only owe 2,400 now,but because im near retirement age i dont belive they wolud add 20.000 to this loan.

Have you any interests in pushing equity release as an option here CCME?

You wouldn't have received a warning from another moderator in the past few minutes for promoting a firm specialising in equity release by any chance?

If so, you would do well to disclose any vested interest when posting such advice before you are banned.

no i do not have any vested interests in equity dealings,as both my wife and i wish to leave the property to our daughter.

I think perhaps approach your own bank and see if they will lend you the money.

CCOVICH was referring to CCME and not you above!

Could someone loan you the money and you pay them back a set month or weekly repayment?.A good friend/family or whatever?!. You need to view your credit report.
