Too late to start pension ?

I am in my mid 50s SSIA maturing on monday next. Husband retired early from his job, so he is on a pension we are both in the 20% tax bracket. I am working part time and intend to work for approx 4/5 more years.I am not in a pension scheme. Is there any point in taking out a PRSA as I was under the impression that I will not get any tax relief on my pension contributions when I finish work as I will have no income and I do not know if my husband would be able to claim the tax relief, I was going to put some of my SSIA into it to start it off.

As you are on the lower tax bracket I would not invest in a pension.

Please note I am not a Financial advisor.

Thats what I feel myself, I will just have to hang on till I get the Old age penision!

I don't thik it would be worth it. Why don't you look at the savings and investment forum to see if anything seems worthwhile to you.

It would take investing huge amount of money to make it worth while

I meant to invest SSIA money...it's not a pension but at least OP can try to get some decent returns.
