Too late to reseed?

Hi,

I am getting my kerbing done this week and then getting top soil spread out on my lawn. It will be about a half acre when finished.

I am new to this and am wondering what is the order to get the lawn in order? I have sprayed everything with roundup and all weeds grass etc is now dead. I am planning the following:

Groundsman is spreading topsoil out on the lawn
Rake all stones off it over next week and spread seed

Is there anything else that needs to be done?

Just finished our .63 acre site last friday, looking for plenty of intermittant rain and sunshine, the local farmer said its ideal weather at the moment for germination.

If you go to the trouble of levelling the topsoil etc then you better go all the way and get the lawn finished - I wouldn't level the topsoil unless you're sure you can get the job finished. Coming from a farming background, this time of year is a good time to do the lawn. It's a pity the weather is after breaking which will make your job alot harder.

Personally we're doing a lawn as well but have decided to lay the kerbs and do the lawn next April
