to buy now or not?

Im looking to get a new car. Im thinking '06 or '07 prob 1.4cc
Can someone explain the new vrt (only for new cars so wont affect me?) and the new tax rates - basically I just want to know if I should buy now or wait until July? Whats the aprx cost of the tax ona 1l, 1.2 & 1.4l from July?

There will be no change in july for second hand irish cars.The new vrt rules only apply to brand new cars and cars imported after that date.So in answer to your question no reason not to buy one now but bargain hard as the car trade is not so busy at the moment.If you could stretch to a new car ,generally diesels and fuel efficient petrols will be a bit cheaper and have lower car tax
