How do!!
I have a '00 Nissan Almera, I was told recently I need to get the timing chain replaced.
It is noisy and it has only 68,000 miles on the clock. I have the car just less than a year.
I was quoted by a Nissan dealer 800 euro!!!!!
I contacted Advance Pitstop in Galway, and the dude I spoke to quoted me 700 euro.
He told me there are two chains to be replaced and also mentioned guiding rails etc[this was worse case scenario, he hadn't looked at it at this stage].
He told me to bring the car in and they'll have a look, saying not all parts may need replacing.
Brought the car in and unfortunately the dude I was dealing with wasn't there and Advance said they wouldn't do it, too difficult a job and recommended to bring it to a dealer.
Does anyone know of any garage in Galway that would change a timing chain?
I want to stay away from main dealer if possible.
Is it recommended to replace all parts concerning the timing belt, rails tensioner etc.
Any feedback will be much appreciated.
Thanks
