Timing Belt For Audi A3?

Just bought an Audi A3 with 59,000 miles, does the timing belt need to be done? Owner reckons an audi dealer showed him a manual and it had lots of different A3's with lots of different milage, and the one i bought is a '03 new shape 1.6 sport and timing belt does not need to be done until 75,000 miles. Any help, pls ???????????
