Hi
Just wondering if anyone can give me advice about replacing my timing belt on a 2003 Skoda Suberb with 85K mileage. I have been quoted €495 including labour & vat by the main dealer. Does this seem reasonable? Also quoted €352 (inc Vat & labour) for replacement of CV boot which has to be done in order to pass NCT. Thanks

I was quoted this only this week for Hyundai Santa Fe.

Parts are €210 (Belt, idler, water pump, coolant)
Labour would be €640
+ VAT

both prices seem very high, santa fe does involve a lot of work but still seems a little high

Hi

My Fiat guy quoted €637 including VAT for timing belt, tensioner, water pump, cooler and CV boot for my 02 automatic Punto. Thinking bout getting a couple more quotes but not sure who to ask (living in Dublin 2).

Shop around a bit more. I would imagine 400-500 to be around the normal price as it is a job that requires a lot of work.

Some cars are a little more difficult though

I was quoted 400 to do the job on a 1.4 golf which I thought was reasonable.

If it needs doing, then best to get it done. Its way more expensive when it goes
