My gas boiler seems to be no longer heating the water, no one can seem to find the reason. Is it possible to fit a timer to the emertion, so that at least there is hot water at certain times of the day?

Re: timer for immersion

Yes I had a timer fitted a few years back. Seemed a fairly easy job for the electrician. I think the timer cost about 40 or 50 euro and he charged 60/70 to fit it. It's been a few years but I'm certain it was no more than 120 at the time.

Re: timer for immersion

I got one in Radionics over in Crumlin a few years back....

Get it fitted before the manaul sink/bath on/off switch

Bought a timer today in B&Q €43 as I am in exactly the same boat and have unreliable hot water provision . I managed to fit it in 30 minutes. However I don't have the choice between Bath and Sink which probably made it slightly easier to install.
