time limit for invoices to be sent out?

My brother had work done on his house three and a half years ago. The company that did the work never invoiced him for it. My brother has contacted the company a good few times looking for them to send him an invoice as he did not know exactly what he owed the company. Can the company invoice him now for payment or is there a time limit that invoices must be sent out by?

Yes- they are entitled to payment up to 6 years ( Statute of Limitations) from the date the work was done or it was admitted by your brother that the money was due.

It is quite possible that they have forgotten about the invoice at this stage.
