Time for a decision from AIB

We have applied for a mortgage from AIB and they are taking forever to come back with a decision. They have asked for more information twice and then they told us that they had changed their forms so we had to complete a new form. We sent the new form in last Thursday. They say they aim for a turnaround of 5 days (presumably from when the last piece of information is submitted?). Does anyone have any experience of how long a decision? We've seen a house we want to put an offer in on, but would prefer to have mortgage approval before doing this.

We're finding that 5 working days is about the norm for AIB at the moment.

When does the five days start? Apart from the new form they have had all our documention for nearly two weeks now! I'm getting more anxious by the day!

Just to say, I had a completely different experience with them only a few weeks ago. Submitted all the relevant documentation and they got back to me after 3 working days to confirm the offer. And both my solicitor and I received the loan offer & mortgage pack in the post another 2 days later.

@Gcsm9 - That is very quick approval. Good to see that they are processing some applications quickly!
