If there are problems like this, don't pay him at all until the work is finished to your satisfaction. Tell him to fix the problems you point out, then pay him what he quoted.I have asked him for the receipts of the items he bought and he is going to try find them. I have tried reasoning with him but he is adamant on the price he is now quoting. I just don't know where to go from here seeing as he wont reason with me. Some of the tiles are loosing on the floor and I also had to take that up with him he said it was because it was a new house. However the house is built with about 6-9 months so I doubt it could be dampness.......

Im sure theres tilers who post on this forum who can tell you exactly how much sq yardage €150 of grout and adhesive would cover.
How big are these bags in kilogram?he had to use 8 bags of adhesive
A qualified tiler will know his capabilities as regards how much adhesive to spread before laying ........ if he misjudged this and remixed, it will have a bearing on the 'bite'. On your second point, if he does not know how to assess quantities, perhaps he should be working for a firm. Preferably on horseback!I rang him querying the lifting tiles again and he is now saying the adhesive must have set too quick. Could this be the problem with the lifting tiles or is he just tryint fob me off.
