Tiling bathroom floor

Hi All,

Looking for some tiling advice.
I'm tiling the ensuite in our new house this weekend and am wondering if I need to pre-treat the floor before doing it.

The floor has MDF sheeting on it which has been put down pretty well and doesn't appear to have any bulges in it that might affect a tile.
Should I just treat this with a sealing agent or do I need to put down plywood ?

Thanks,
DIWHY.

Are you sure it's MDF? I would have thought it quite unusual to use MDF on a floor. It certainly isn't a good base for tiling, as the moisture present in the adhesive is likely to cause it to expand.

No I'm not sure at all Leo, I'm probably wrong, I'll ring the builder and ask what it is. What would it most likely be ?

You're most likely right. In that case should I still put on a bonding/sealing agent ?
