Hi all,

what area of floor space would 40 tiles (each 60 x 30 cm) cover?

I figured its 60 * 30 * 40 / 100 = metres squared, is that correct?

if so should i have enough to cover the following 2 areas?

hall 3.67m * 2m

and bathroom 1.6m * 1.45m

???

besides the 40 tiles, there are about 15 half tiles, these are second hand marble tiles that a friend wants rid of.

sorry, i think I know how to work this out but was hoping someone here with tiling experience could give good advice to me.

thanks

Hi I’m not a tiller but I can do the maths for you
40 Tiles would work out this way
100cm = 1 meter
60cm =0.60 meter Etc
0.60 * 0.30 * 40 =7.2 square meters

Hall 3.67m * 2m = 7.34 meters
Bathroom 1.6m * 1.45m = 2.32m

i calculate about 7.5 sq m that you can cover (im assuming a 10mm gap) with those 40 tiles.... you need to cover 9.66 sq m......

you may have about 2.8 sq m in half tiles... but these will only work if they are wider than the space they need to fit.... so you may have 10.3 in total...

my advise would be to lay all the tiles out dry..... these should tell you for certain if you have enough...

EDIT... Niallm... 0.6 * 0.3 * 40 = 7.2
