Anyone know what type of tiles would be best on a floor that could possibly become damp every now and again?

Is that any treatment that could be done to protect the tiles ?

When you say they become damp, you mean from splashes (from a tap, in a wash room / bathroom etc) or is that floor slab already damp? If you're looking for waterproof adhesive, would suggest products by Evo Stik or BAL. A water proof grout would also be required. If the slab is damp, a DPM and screed would be required to ensure there is no rising damp.

its rising damp through the slab... only appears around the corners of the room in really wet weather and then dries out a day or two later..
