Hi,

I have got quote from tiler @ 25.67euros/sq. yrd.

Can you tell me, whether it is a good price.

Any inputs/replies are appreciated.

This is a Homes and Gardens and not a Mortgages and Home Buying issue.

I paid 17 euro per square yrd. 3 weeks ago.
25 euro sounds expensive.

€16-€17 per sq yard is about average but it does depend on the type of tiles being laid - ie marble & slate are more expensive - this is because they are natural & are not identical in nature and so have different height/thickness thus making the fitting more time consuming. What way did your tiler actually quote - I wouldn't imagine he quoted an odd figure of €25.67 - does this figure incl. grout, trims, etc and what size area is it. If it is a small job and involves a lot of cutting ie around toilet, sink, windows, etc there could be an additional charge.

HI

i am also having difficulty getting a reasonable price for laying floor tiles. I was quoted for the job not per square yard and it was working out at €500 for a 9 square yard job. this was just for labour! Could anyone give me the contact details of a good tiler who is more affordable. (kildare/dublin/meath area)

Thanks for your help
