The low prices in this estate (even compared to the generally low prices in Dundalk) indicate how much people want to buy there. You can pick up three bedroomed terraced houses for the mid-50s -which need doing up . And even those in top condition shouldn't sell for more than 70s.
It's essential to spend some time walking around that relatively small estate. Don't worry you won't get mugged - that 's more likely in other areas along the castletown Road area.
If I was buying in Dundalk I'd stick to the centre of town which has some nice old houses going cheaply, is quite safe, is quiet yet next to all the amenities. (and are easier to rent). The centre of Dundalk is improving -I wonder if Castleross will.
