Good afternoon!
I have a query if anybody is able to clarify it for me please!
I have a son heading to third level next year all going well.I also have a daughter who in 2010 started college, lasted 4 weeks and left. Was a bit overwhelmed by it all.Didn't have to pay any fees and got a levy refund which I wasn't expecting. The daughter has been working(thankfully) since Feb this year doing around 20/30 hrs per week. She gets approx 800/900 per month net.Pays no tax, barely. She still lives at home.

She is thinking of maybe going to college next year,2012.
What I would like to know is
a)Do the local authority use her wages only when determining for grant?
b)Combine my husbands income and hers together?
c) If she gets the grant can she still work weekends and get a small income to herself?
d) Is there an extra allowance on income limit if you have two children attending college?
Would appreciate some of your advice!

This may explain

"Means test If you were ordinarily resident with your parents from October 1 of the year before the year of entry to the course, you are considered dependent on your parents and your income (if any) is assessed together with your parents' income(s). An allowance is made for your earnings outside of term-time – up to €3,809 currently."
