Third level education-grant entitlements

my son will be going to university in 2007 can you tell me what my earnings should be for him to qualify for full grant.

deiseboys, I have here the figures for 2005/6, you could phone the Dept. of Education and Science at 01 889 6400 for next years as they are not available in this booklet.

Full Maintenance and full fees with less than four children is €35,485.

it goes down then on a sliding scale 75% is €37,695. 50% is €39,915,

25% is €42,130. and so on depending on the number of children you

have.This is taken from the booklet "Financial Support for Further and Higher Education" and is available from the DES. at the above phone number.

head into your local county council and ask them for a grant application form. The new ones wont be printed yet but they may have one from last year the cut off rates dont change (i think). His grant entitlement also depends on his proximity from his college.
It would be no harm to get the application form just to see what documentation you need to accompany it (there can be a fair amount depending on your circumstances).
