If you are referring to leaseback there has been a lot of discussion on this forum about it. If not, there are other things to consider, like property management, variable weather, price versus the rental and personal use etc. But, Brittany is lovely anyway.
Thank you for the reply not too sure about the holiday rental side of it only guaranteed for 1 year going to look into leaseback in France and see what that throws up
Fago, The general view seems to be that any "guaranteed rental" is usually built into the purchase price, so you will be getting your own money back, and possibly be liable to tax on it. One year seems very short and hardly worth it. Could you swing the equivalent discount on the purchase price? If you search on here for "leasebacks" you should get lots of information on the French situation.
You would be better off speaking to somebody who will give you independent, objective, professional advice and who does not have a vested interest in flogging you something.
